Krishnagiri, Erode, The Nilgiris, Namakkal, Tiruchirapalli, Pudukottai district, Tirupattur, Vellore are the districts where IMD issued yellow alert for heavy rainfall.

S Balachandran a deputy director general of Regional Meteorological Centre said:

“The overnight rainfall records a strong wind gust reaching speed of 50kmph. In the three hours between 05:30am and 8:30am 45mm or 4cm rainfall recorded by Nungambakkam Observatory.”
